FYJC Admission Maharashtra 2026 — Eligibility, Process & Tips

What is FYJC?

• First Year Junior College (Class 11): entry into HSC Board (Classes 11–12)
• Admission to Arts, Commerce and Science streams in Maharashtra junior colleges
• Conducted online via FYJC portal (www.11thadmission.org.in for Greater Mumbai, separate portals for other divisions)

Eligibility and Documents

• Minimum 35% in SSC (Class 10 MSBSHSE or equivalent board) for any stream
• Required documents: SSC marksheet, school leaving certificate (LC), caste certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar card, passport-size photos
• Out-of-state students: submit migration certificate + equivalent board marksheet

How the Merit System Works

• Merit percentage calculated from best 5 subjects (English compulsory) in SSC
• Applied to preferred junior college online; multiple rounds of merit list published
• Cutoff varies every year; top Science colleges in Nashik: 90–95%; top Commerce: 80–90%

Choosing the Right Stream

• Science (PCM): engineering, medicine, pure sciences, architecture; requires 65%+ for reputed colleges
• Science (PCB): medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, nursing
• Commerce: CA, MBA, banking, finance; Maths optional in Commerce stream available

Centralised Admission Process (CAP)

• Students fill online preferences of colleges; merit-based allotment through CAP rounds
• Round 1, 2, 3: each round shows allotment; accept or switch to free round
• Free round: direct admission after CAP if seat remains; cutoff drops significantly

• Top Science: HPT College, New Arts Commerce and Science College, KTHMs College, Bright Junior College
• Top Commerce: Sir Parashurambhau (SP) Nashik, GH Raisoni, Gokhale Education Society
