Eligibility for UPSC CSE

UPSC CSE — Three Stages

- Mains: 9 written papers (GS I-IV, Essay, two optional papers, English, Indian language); ~12,000 appear, ~2,500 qualify
- Interview (Personality Test): 275 marks; assesses personality, leadership, decision-making
Subject Selection Strategy
- Optional subject carries 500 marks (2 papers of 250 each); choose based on graduation subject + availability of resources

Preparation Timeline
- 12–18 months serious preparation typical for fresh graduates

Interview and Final Selection
