Computer Networks - II — Question 13
Back to all questionsA repeater is a network device that amplifies and restores signals for long-distance transmission. It is used in long network lines, which exceed the maximum rated distance for a single run.
Over distance, the cables connecting a network lose the signal transmitted. Repeaters are installed along the way in the network to ensure that data packets reach their destination without any degradation of the message.
