Question
A bottle of milk is poured equally into 8 glasses, leaving 120 ml of milk in the bottle. (a) If each glass has a capacity of 360 ml, what is the total capacity of 8 glasses? (b) How much milk was there in the bottle initially? (c) If 1 l of milk costs ₹ 40, how much will 3 l milk cost?
Answer

(a) Total capacity of 8 glasses
= 8 × 360 ml = 2,880 ml = 21 880 ml
(b) The amount of milk in the bottle initially
= the total amount of milk poured in the glasses + the amount of milk left
= 2,880 ml + 120 ml
= 3,000 ml
= 3 l
(c) 1 l × 3 = 3 l
₹ 40 × 3 = ₹ 120
