The Himalayan region is divided into three main parts: Western Himalayas – Found in the states of: Jammu and Kashmir Ladakh Himachal Pradesh Uttarakhand (western part) Central Himalayas – Found mainly in: Uttarakhand (central region) Part of Sikkim Eastern Himalayas – Found in: Sikkim Arunachal Pradesh Northern parts of West Bengal (especially the Darjeeling district)
