Write the products and balance the equation.

(a) Na2CO3 + H2SO4 ⟶

(b) Fe + H2SO4 ⟶

Answer

(a) Na2CO3 + H2SO4 ⟶ Na2SO4 + H2O + CO2 ↑
The products formed are sodium sulphate, water and carbon dioxide gas.

(b) Fe + H2SO4 ⟶ FeSO4 + H2 ↑
The products formed are ferrous sulphate and hydrogen gas.
