Let AB be the pole and BC be the shadow and angle of elevation of Sun be θ.

⇒ tan θ = ABBC\dfrac{AB}{BC}

⇒ tan θ = x3x\dfrac{x}{\sqrt{3}x}

⇒ θ = 30°.
