Volume of a cylinder of height 3 cm is 48π. Radius of the cylinder is :

  1. 48 cm

  2. 16 cm

Answer

Let radius of cylinder be r cm.

Given,

Height of cylinder (h) = 3 cm

By formula,

⇒ Volume of cylinder = πr2h

⇒ 3πr2 = 48π

⇒ 3r2 = 48

⇒ r2 = 483\dfrac{48}{3}

⇒ r2 = 483\dfrac{48}{3}

⇒ r2 = 16

⇒ r = 16\sqrt{16} = 4 cm.

Hence, Option 3 is the correct option.
