Give the environment effect of three polluting gases with a reason why nitrogen is not considered a polluting gas.
Environment effect of three different polluting gases:
- Sulphur dioxide — cause respiratory problems
- Nitrogen dioxide — initiates acid rainfall
- Dust & smoke particles — causes respiratory problems and precipitates rain.
Nitrogen is not considered a polluting gas for the following reasons:
- It is an inert or unreactive gas.
- It is utilized by plants for their growth and development.
- It controls combustion by diluting the activity of oxygen.
- It is not a greenhouse gas and does not contribute to global warming.
