What are the qualifications necessary to be a member of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha?
To become a member of Lok Sabha, a person must:
- be a citizen of India.
- be 25 years of age.
- not hold any office of profit under the Government of India.
- possess sound mental health.
- not be a proclaimed criminal, insolvent or bankrupt.
To become a member of Rajya Sabha, a person must:
- be a citizen of India.
- be 30 years of age and above.
- possess sound mental health.
- not hold any office of profit under the Government of India.
- not be a criminal or insolvent.
