What is BITSAT?

• BITS Admission Test: entrance for BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses
• Online computer-based test; 3.5 hours; 130 questions (can attempt extra 12 bonus questions if all answered)
• Sections: Physics 40, Chemistry 40, Maths/Biology 45, English 15, Logical Reasoning 10

Why BITSAT Matters

• BITS Pilani CSE: considered among top 5 CS programmes in India; strong Silicon Valley alumni network
• No JEE required; students often appear for both JEE and BITSAT
• BITS Hyderabad, Goa: good campuses with growing placement records

Physics for BITSAT

• NCERT + HC Verma is primary; cover all 28 chapters of Class 11 and 12 Physics
• Modern Physics, Optics, Electrostatics, Magnetism: high weightage in BITSAT
• 40 questions in 50 minutes: speed and accuracy essential; no partial credit

Chemistry for BITSAT

• Physical Chemistry: stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry
• Organic Chemistry: reactions, mechanisms (more depth than JEE Main)
• Inorganic Chemistry: periodic trends, coordination compounds, qualitative analysis

Mathematics for BITSAT

• Calculus, Algebra, Trigonometry: 3D Geometry, Vectors, Probability
• Practice speed: 45 questions in 50 minutes; 66 seconds per question
• BITSAT Maths: slightly easier than JEE Advanced but requires speed; past papers are best practice

English and Logical Reasoning

• English (15 marks): grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension; often underestimated
• Logical Reasoning (10 marks): analogies, series, syllogisms; can be solved quickly if practiced
• Students who score full 25 marks in E+LR get a significant advantage over peers who ignore these sections

Score Requirements (Expected 2026)

• BITS Pilani CSE: 370+/390; EEE: 340+; Mech: 320+
• BITS Goa CSE: 355+; BITS Hyderabad CSE: 345+
• Each year cutoffs shift by 5–10 marks based on difficulty; 340+ gives a good safety college
