Question 1(i)

Find the volume of the right circular cone with radius 6 cm, height 7 cm.

Answer

Given,

Radius of the cone (r) = 6 cm

Height of the cone (h) = 7 cm

By formula,

Volume of the cone (V) = 13πr2h\dfrac{1}{3}πr^2h

Substituting values we get :

V=13×227×62×7=13×22×36=22×12=264 cm3.V = \dfrac{1}{3} \times \dfrac{22}{7} \times 6^2 \times 7 \\[1em] = \dfrac{1}{3} \times 22 \times 36 \\[1em] = 22 \times 12 \\[1em] = 264 \text{ cm}^3.

Hence, volume of cone = 264 cm3.
