The geographical conditions necessary for the growth of groundnuts are:
- Well drained light sandy loams, red and black soils are well suited for its cultivation.
- It grows well with temperature ranging between 20° C to 25° C.
- Warm and dry weather is important at ripening stage.
- It needs a rainfall of 50 to 70 cm.
Gujarat is the leading producer of Groundnut in India.
