Name the by-products of sugarcane. Give one important use of each.
The by-products of sugarcane and their uses are:
- Molasses — It is used to produce industrial alcohol, fertilizers, rum, treacle and yeast.
- Bagasse — It is used as fuel for mills and mainly used for paper, fibre board and synthetic fibres.
- Press mud — It is used to make wax, shoe polish and carbon paper.
